Introduction

Hey everyone, not sure what to start out with, so here goes nothing. My name is Kelsey; I am married to the military. Although not literally, it feels like it sometimes. My husband, Matt, has been in The North Dakota Army National Guard since he was 17 years old. We were both 20 years old when we were married and he was 3 months shy of leaving for his first year long mission. Now, a year after he returned home, he has signed up for The United States Army. When we first met, he told me that was his plan, which scared the bejesus out of me- thinking I don't want to leave my family, my town, my life!!! After he explained to me why this was important to him and of course after falling in love with him and realizing I couldn't live the rest of my life without him, I started to do the research to see just what it would be like to be an "Army wife". After hours of struggling to find information about military life, I found myself more confused than when I had started. Problem was, there wasn't a specific place where I could go to talk to other wives or soldiers to get those answers. There was either conflicting information on one topic or there wasn't any information at all on another. Now, I would like to share the information I have learned along the way and I hope that you will share your experiences and knowledge with me!

Save Time and Money with USPS to Ship Them Goodies!

So, I read online somewhere from another military wife that the post office offers free packaging supplies like boxes, labels, tape, and packing materials. They even mail it to your door!! While I have not done this myself, she said that you just call 1-800-610-8734; hit 1, then 1 again, then hit 2 to request your "military pack". She said they also provide an identification number for reorders. My hubby isn't currently overseas or away at training, so I don't need any of these supplies at this time, but I might just call and request the pack and keep it for later to let you know if it's worth your time!
